How to Play Piano by Earby Jermaine Griggs The information that I am going to share with you is not new. It is, however, a process that thousands have already used to drastically improve their ear-skills. Simply put, it is a method that anyone can utilize --- regardless of age, music knowledge, experience or ability.
If you're smart, you've probably been studying how melodies are created, the process of how the harmony is derived from the melody, and how to alter chords once you have harmonized the melody. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you might want to click here. Along with the above techniques come learning major and minor scales, triads, seventh, ninth, eleventh and thirteenth chords --- not to mention the diminished, augmented, half-diminished, and sixth chords. Then after learning chords (and how they are formed), there's the whole process of combining these chords to create certain progressions ... then as you know, progressions turn into songs which can then be played, performed, used for accompaniment, etc ... (these are just a few of the techniques and skills that lead to playing a song...) There's just one problem. The bigger your list gets, the more music theory you know --- however, the need to be able to recognize these scales, melodies, chords, and progressions (by ear) in songs increases. Put it this way: I personally wouldn't study basketball for 10 years not to take one free throw shot (or improvise with a "behind-the-back" pass) ... Studying the sport is fine, but there must also be some level of interactivity or one will soon get bored --- and perhaps forget what they've studied in the first place! Because I understand this completely, one of my main goals has been to help students (who have already taken the first step by learning the techniques, principles, & theory behind playing the piano by ear), and to offer them a unique approach to building their ear skills --- easily, fun, and quickly. Look. If you feel that your ear is where it's going to be --- and that there is nothing that you can do to improve your ability to recognize melodies and chord progressions, then don't waste your time here. The ear-training techniques that I am about to share won't interest you at all. However, if you'd like to discover how you can ...
... then you'll want to pay close attention to what I'm about to share with you.
